Good Stuff!!
I like the structured atmosphere of these courses. There’s no way I could do this nearly as effectively if I was going through a book.
nice way to learn
I’m not sure how this already got rated but I’m rating it ONE STAR. I can’t get through creating OUs and users. I create the OUs, Create the user yet the score says user not created. I can then proceed down the list of other objectives that all show completed yet your score systems says user not created. Frustrating. 🙄
Hi Mark Bishop
For the first couple of tasks, the OU structure should look like the following in the attached image. It might be just that the OU is not like that since the evaluation script checks the exact path and not if just they exist in AD.
Ricardo
That is exactly how mine looks yet my score for create user remains as not created.
Can you send a screenshot from the whole lab interface view with the evaluation checks to see which one is the one with the issue for you?
Mine did the same thing. Gives impossible results.
Hi Sean Greenberg
I am sorry for the late reply.
I see the Lab has been completed, but if you still need help with this or any other let us know.
Ricardo
I completed the lab with 100 percent, but it still doesn’t record as completed. This is the 5th/6th time I did the lab.
Hi Jasper Tunney
We have marked the lab as completed for you.
Ricardo
Hello. My lab is not showing as complete
Hi Ted Rollins
The lab is completed by looking at your completed labs and lessons student progress. If you see it on your end incomplete let us know.
Ricardo
Lab does not recognize the created OU’s, or the created user account “paul.hill”. This is odd because the lab does recognize when the password for paul.hill has been reset. How can these two things exist simultaneously? By the way, I checked for a pre-existing paul.hill account; there was no record.
Hi Mister Lewis
Might be an issue with the way the OUs are created or named. The evaluation script is checking for the OU:
serveracademy
|-Domain Users
|-Paul Hill
|-Domain Computers
|-Disabled Users
When changing the password, the evaluation script checks for the existence of Paul Hill in AD, which is why it works.
Ricardo
I loved it
I’m having the same issue as others have stated. I created the following OUs under ad.serveracademy.com domain
Server Academy
Domain Users
Domain Computers
Disabled Users
It says Organizational Units not created. I also created new user paul.hill under Domain Users and it says the user account paul.hill was not created. I’m doing everything just as in the videos and so far nothing is right.
Hi Brady Durham
Under ad.serveracademy.com a new OU needs to be created with the name Server Academy. Under the Server Academy, the other OUs need to be created. That might be the reason why the step of checking user paul.hill failed.
Ricardo
Thanks for the reply Ricardo. I understand that, but I am having issues with the first part as well. I created the right OUs under ad.serveracademy.com and it said the OU’s weren’t created at all.
I have checked the lab, and the first step checks green if created like the attached screenshot. I see the OUs you are creating based on your previous posts on how you are typing them. Try typing the name of the first OU in lowercase and one word like “serveracademy” instead of “Server Academy”. That might be the reason why it is failing.
Hi Ricardo,
Thanks for the quick response. I used serveracademy this time instead of Server Academy and it worked. I was able to complete everything else in the lab with no difficulty so thank you once again!
I moved the user paul.hill to the Disabled Users OU but it still scored it as failed.
Hi Yannick Teguimdje,
It might be that the user needs to be disabled as well. Give it a try and let us know if that works.
Ricardo
Hi Ricardo,
it worked thanks. But I keep having another issue:
“The user paul.hill is not a member of the Domain Admins group.”
I tried several times now. is there a lessons where you’re showing that step by step?
I’m applying what I watched in the lesson “Understanding Groups and memberships”, but it doesn’t work.
Yannick
The steps for adding the user to the group are in the Understanding Groups and Memberships in Active Directory lesson. Basically, you add paul.hill as a member of the Domain Admins group to have the step completed. Make sure that the user is under Domain Users.
Ricardo
It now worked fine. Thank you.
Yannick
Adding the second domain controller SADC02 is not available although it pass all the other tasks. How would I resolve this issue?
Hi Granville Barrett
To change it right-click on the domain name in the console tree and select “Operation Masters…” from the context menu. The window that should show is “Operations Masters”. Then click on the Change button.
Ricardo
I’ve tried that solution it’s still failing
Click change and the role will be transferred. The screenshot shows that SADC01 has the role.
